Our PregActive Pregnancy Workout App

It's all about ease of access when it comes to exercising, and even more so in pregnancy and postpartum. Today, I want to chat about our new pregnancy workout APP and how it evolved.

Being time poor and having a lack of motivation are just two major barriers to women starting a new exercise regime, and what adds to that lack of desire to start are travel time, bad class schedules, poor quality instructors and inflexibility in class type and length.

I hear it over and over again. "I wish I could, but (insert major reason for not starting here)."

The truth is, it's hard when you finally make the effort to prioritize you and still it all fails.

I've listened to all this feedback and noted the biggest draw backs for actually starting exercise are:

  1. Travel time that adds so much time to your allocated 'me-time'
  2. Class schedules that never seem to match up to your schedule
  3. Instructors that you really aren't sure know how to modify for you
  4. A complete lack of variety in class types and lengths

And for new Mothers particularly, one of the biggest barriers to actually fitting in postpartum exercise (or pregnancy exercise if you have other children) is that:

There is no one to stay home and look after your child whilst you leave the house to go exercise!

I know this was the truth for me. I wasn't going to use up all of my grandparent babysitting points on regular exercise, and to fit my exercise in around my husband's work schedule (and the baby's sleep and feeding schedule), was just all too hard!

Helping mamas Since 2025

PregActive has been helping pregnant women and new mothers for over 10 years now. 

It all started in the outer Eastern Suburbs of Melbourne in Australia. It was just a small Yoga and Pilates studio, and I started with just one pregnant woman, who then the next week bought a friend. And then more and more women came along.

It grew and grew, women loved it, the feedback was amazing.

But there was one problem.

Location and Time.

If you did not live locally and you could not come at that exact allocated timeslot - you missed out.

And that didn't sit well with me.

I wanted everyone, no matter where they lived or the schedule they had, to be able to enjoy what I had to offer.

And most importantly I wanted them to feel safe in their pregnancy and postpartum journey, knowing that they exercise they were choosing to do was helping them and was good for baby.

So then our online program was born! Years of filming and creating, trial and error, but most importantly listening to feedback from our Mamas.

I then become pregnant myself in 2019 after literally over a decade of helping pregnant women and new mothers in their journey, I started my own journey.

And I wanted other women to be able to experience what I was experiencing.

My knowledge allowed me to create exercise sequences that helped reduce pregnancy related back ache, that helped reduce the intensity of pelvic girdle pain, that helped me to feel better in my body and to help prepare me mentally and physically for birth.

My Childbirth Experience

in January 2020 I gave birth to my firstborn and what magic that was! The most incredible birth experience. So empowering, so beautiful.

As the world closed up in lockdowns, I expanded what I could offer. Literally women from the other side of the world were contacting me thanking me for what I was giving to them in their time of need.

PregActive grew and grew and now we offer a Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise Course for other personal trainers and group instructors to become pre/postnatal qualified.

I will keep building, keep offering, keep helping.

Because there is a need.

And so, I'm here before you to celebrate. To acknowledge every woman who has ever been part of our PregActive community and give thanks to those who gave me their valuable feedback.

Now daily we have sign ups to our Online platform Studio PregActive from Mamas and Mamas-to-be across the globe and I'm excited that we are officially in the App stores!

My team and I add new content and programs and love nothing more than listening to feedback.
