Meet Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise Specialist Tarsh
We just love hearing the absolute passion our graduates have in helping pregnant women and new mothers!
Here's another one of our incredible graduates, it's time to meet Tarsh:
Hi I'm Tarsh, I have 15 years of experience working in the Fitness Industry, I hold a Dip in Fitness, Barre teacher, reformer Pilates, Yoga for kids, Reiki and Mindfulness Pre & Postnatal fitness specialist.
What is your current profession and where are you based?
I am based in Redcliffe, Brisbane, and work in a well-being studio where we offer reformer Pilates, yoga, barre, and other holistic services focused on supporting overall health and wellness.
Why is helping pregnant and postpartum women so important to you?
I had my first child at 40, and that experience gave me a deep appreciation for the unique challenges that come with pregnancy, birth, and recovery. I'm truly passionate about supporting women during this transformative time, as I know firsthand how valuable movement, strength, and self-care are in feeling empowered and confident throughout the journey.
What did you enjoy most about the PregActive Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise Course?
I truly appreciated how evidence-based and practical the course was. The information was grounded in research, which gave me confidence in applying what I learned to real-life scenarios. The content was delivered in a clear, easy-to-understand way, making it accessible for both fitness professionals and mothers looking to deepen their knowledge.
One of the aspects I valued most was how the course was broken down into bite-sized, manageable lessons. This made it easy to absorb and apply the information without feeling overwhelmed—especially as a busy mum. The flexibility of the learning structure allowed me to study at my own pace while balancing motherhood, which made the experience both enjoyable and achievable. I now feel well-equipped with valuable tools to safely guide women through each stage of pregnancy and postpartum recovery with confidence.
What do you plan to do now that you are a Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise Specialist?
I plan to integrate this knowledge into my work, I plan on expanding my offering and helping pregnant and postpartum women feel strong, supported, and confident in their bodies. Whether through Pilates, yoga, or other movement-based sessions, my goal is to provide safe, effective exercise options that empower women during and after pregnancy.
What would you say to a newly pregnant mama-to-be who is nervous about starting exercise?
It’s completely normal to feel unsure, but movement is one of the best things you can do for both your body and your baby. The key is to listen to your body and follow a program designed for pregnancy. Safe, gentle movement can help reduce discomfort, improve energy levels, and prepare your body for birth and recovery.
What supportive words would you say to a new postpartum mother to help her get started with exercise?
Be kind to yourself and take things one step at a time. Your body has been through so much, and healing takes time. Start with gentle movement, focus on core and pelvic floor recovery, and remember that every small step counts. Most importantly, don’t rush—your strength will return, and you are doing an amazing job!
