My Yin Yoga Training

Jun 30, 2025

I literally just came back last week from a Yin Yoga Training Immersion in Bali.

And yes, it was as good as it sounds.

This 50-hour training was held in the lush bamboo and banana lands of Ubud countryside.

And it was also 6 nights away from my two boys (now ages 3-year-old and 5-year-old)

I need to take this time to honour the journey of Matrescence and the ongoing journey that it is.

Matrescence is the transition from womanhood to motherhood, but it's also transitions in chapters of motherhood too.

And for me, this was a big thing to do. To be away from my boys for a week was huge. For me and for them.

To be depended on 24 hours a day 7 days a week by my 5-year-old and 3-year-old, to then sitting in a yoga shala surrounded by bolsters and silence was a big shift.

I cried, of course I cried. There was so much to let out, as there was so much held in.

And I know you have that too. You might not even know that you do.

This is just the first chapter of my yin training story. As I process it and formulate it into blissful sessions designed for you, it will all come through

Resetting the nervous system, tapping out of the over thinking brain and giving yourself permission to let go is HUGE!

Not only in the postpartum world, but for pregnancy and planning for pregnancy too.

We all hold too much stress, We all go too fast (me included!).

Our last class, my beautiful teacher Lisa Matthews read a profound quote that resonated with me:

“We withdraw not to disappear, but to find another ground from which to see; a solid ground from which to step, and from which to speak again, in a different way, a clear, rested, embodied voice we begin to remember again as our own.”
— David Whyte

And withdraw I did. To move to a different ground to be able to see so much more.

So I look forward to helping you unwind, as I unwound in those 6 blissful days.

A huge shout out to my teachers Lisa Alwell and Lisa Matthews who facilitated the training. I could not have asked for better guidance in this space.

Currently packing up my life as we move house (because when it rains it pours), so once I'm beachside I'll be recording more yin Yoga, Meditations and even some Yoga Nidra.

Watch this space.
