What is your current profession and where are you based?

I am a certified personal trainer based in Singapore and recently certified Pre-natal and Postpartum Specialist. I specialise in helping women stay active during pregnancy and safely rebuild strength, confidence, and function after childbirth. As a mother myself, I understand the unique physical and emotional challenges that come with this season of life, and I am passionate about supporting women through it.

Why is helping pregnant and postpartum women so important to you?

Motherhood has completely changed the way I view health and fitness. Going through pregnancy and postpartum myself showed me just how much support women need, yet how little guidance many receive when it comes to safe exercise and recovery, especially here in Singapore, where we are trying to build awareness but still lack it at the same time. Personally, I understand how going back to the gym postpartum, having to reset in a room full of fit strangers, can be so difficult. I believe every woman deserves to feel strong, capable, and supported throughout her motherhood journey. Helping women understand their bodies, trust themselves, and regain confidence after childbirth is incredibly meaningful to me because I know firsthand the difference it can make.

What did you enjoy most about the PregActive Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise Course?

What I enjoyed most was how practical, evidence-based, and comprehensive the course was. There is clear and actionable guidance and materials provided. I particularly appreciated the focus on understanding the physiological changes women experience and how to adapt exercise safely and effectively throughout each stage. The course reinforced the importance of meeting women where they are and supporting them as individuals.

What do you plan to do now you are a Pregnancy and Postpartum Exercise Specialist?

My goal is to create a supportive space where mothers can prioritise their health without judgment or pressure. I plan to work closely with pregnant and postpartum women through personal training, education, and community initiatives that empower them to move confidently through motherhood. Beyond exercise, I hope to advocate for a more holistic approach to maternal well-being one that recognises the importance of physical recovery, mental health, confidence, and sustainable lifestyle habits.

What would you say to a newly pregnant Mama-to-be who is nervous about starting exercise?

Start where you are and remember that movement does not have to be intense to be beneficial. Focus on you and baby, that's the most important thing. Listen to your body, seek guidance when needed, and know that doing something is always better than doing nothing.

What supportive words would you say to a new postpartum Mother to help her get started with her exercise?

Be patient and kind to yourself. Your body has done something extraordinary, and recovery is not a race. Focus on rebuilding rather than bouncing back. Start with small, manageable steps and celebrate the progress that isn't always visible on the outside. Exercise after birth isn't just about weight loss it is about restoring strength, improving function, supporting your mental well-being, and helping you feel more like yourself again. Every small step forward counts.

Is there anything else you would like to add?

Every time someone asks me why the sudden change in career, I would always tell them about how, as a wife and mom, I am a person who is constantly seeking ways to have more time with my loved ones. Healing inside and outside, a little every day, will help us to achieve that. My mission is to help women feel empowered, informed, and supported throughout pregnancy and postpartum so they can thrive, not just survive, during this season of life, and the many seasons after.
